Prime Minister Pavel Filip instructed to carry out extensive inspections, by joint teams, at all the sociocultural and entertainment facilities of the county. The instruction was formulated in a meeting with representatives of the authorities that monitor the observance of fire safety rules on March 27, IPN reports.
“Negligence is the cause of many tragedies. Clear norms are laid out and these should be implemented. The responsibility of those who manage these facilities is also important,” stated Pavel Filip.
The list of facilities that are visited by a large number of people will be compiled the next few days. There will be set up joint teams that will carry out inspections to see how the fire safety norms are observed and if access ways for ambulances and firefighting teams are ensured. Situations of fire will be simulated and all the business entities will be issued with notices about the fire safety rules.
The representatives of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies said the Inspectorate’s employees will conduct inspections in rotation so as to get a clearer picture. According to Pavel Filip, the measure will also enable to identify the inspectors who issued certificates even if the legal requirements weren’t met.
The Premier requested to review the punishment system in the field depending on the results of inspections.
On the eve of the meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip transmitted a message of condolence to the Russian people and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in connection with the Kemerovo shopping center blaze that claimed 64 lives, including of children.
