„Plus Discount” German company intends to expand in Moldova

The German company “Plus Discount” intends to open in the Republic of Moldova a network of 30 stores, informed the vice-director of the Company, Norbert Missbrandt at a meeting with the prime-minister Vasile Tarlev. According to the German businessman the network “Plus Discount” represents the discount department of the German group Tengelmann that is among the first biggest discount operators on the German market that offers qualitative products and low prices to the clients. The company has about 7.3 stores in 15 countries of the world with annual sells of nearly 27 billion euros. Moldova could be the 10th country where the German group will perform its activities through the agency of the Plus department. The prime-minister Vasile Tarlev welcomed the intention of the German company to enter the Moldovan market and mentioned that the authorities from Chisinau will support the collaboration aspirations and intensions of all the potential investors. The Plus network sells a range of about 1000 products. It includes basic alimentary products like vegetables, fruits or meets but also non-alimentary products like detergents, cosmetics and food for animals. Also the stores offer electric products for home use Worldwide, the Plus stores register sells of about 8.5 milliard euros.
