Young Liberal Democrats (PLDM) launched an invitation to their Communist (PCRM) counterparts, at a news conference on July 11, to debate about the April 7 protests. The action is part of the Adevarul (Truth) program of the PLDM, pursuing to inform the people about the real development of the events after the April 5 parliamentary elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. The PLDM youths consider the young Communists not to be so indoctrinated by the Communist ideology as their older colleagues are and challenge them to an open dialogue, with evidence and arguments about the April 7 events. In their Adevarul campaign, the young Liberal-Democrats plan to go to 800-1000 localities in the country to meet over 200,000 citizens, who, in the PLDM's opinion, are deprived of fair, equidistant and impartial information, 'values ignored by the public broadcaster “Moldova1”'. “The villagers want information, what means that Moldova can be saved. We want to tell the population who is guilty of the April 7-8 events,” says the leader of the PLDM youth organization, George Mocanu. “We'll replace the public television “Moldova 1” with youths saying the truth, they will bring video, audio and photo evidence, will distribute DVDs, because the people have questions and want to learn the truth,” Mocanu said. The PLDM leadership says the reaction of local administrations to the youths is very aggressive, they are intimidated and verbally aggressed. In some districts, the rallies with the PLDM youths were forbidden. The people however attend those meetings, despite being threatened by PCRM backers.
