The sixth Congress of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), where a new political program is to be adopted, will take place on December 8. The decision was taken in a meeting of the party’s National Political Council on July 20. The new political program will include the party’s stance on the development of the state and the way the state institutions should function, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the PLDM.

In a meeting of the National Political Council, there were constituted the working groups that will formulate the new political program and proposals for amending the party’s statutes. The chairman of the PLDM Vlad Filat said an objective is to strengthen and extend the party’s bodies.

According to Vlad Filat, despite the multiple challenges and the political crisis, the PLDM was consistent in the idea that Moldova needs stability and the initiated reforms must be brought to an end, while the state institutions must be functional and defend the people’s interests.

“I have recently visited 13 districts. I established that a lot of goods things were done. There is no settlement where a least one important infrastructure project is not implemented. I saw that there are faults in communication. We must talk more to the people. They must understand that the European agenda means not only slogans, negotiations and documents. The European integration means what we do in our country – roads, schools, gas and water pipelines, social project,” said the Liberal-Democratic leader.

In the meeting, the PLDM’s fist deputy chairman, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and the head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet spoke about the party’s governmental and legislative work.
