The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPDA), the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) and the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) are having discussions to identify a common candidate of the right for the presidential elections, the new leader of the PLDM Viorel Cibotaru stated in an interview for Radio Free Europe. According to him, if more parties join in, the candidate will be a common one, IPN reports.
The politician said they are now discussing the mechanisms for choosing a common candidate that will be supported not only by the voters of the right, but also by all the other members of society. “We will contribute to identifying a common candidate of the right that will meet all the exceptions of the people, both of the voters of the Liberal Democratic Party and, in general, of the people of the Republic of Moldova,” stated Viorel Cibotaru.
He also said that one of the tasks of the PLDM is to contribute to mobilizing the voters so that the candidate of the right wins the elections.
Viorel Cibotaru noted that the EU, the U.S., Romania and other partners will continue to help Moldova. The current government was shown a red card and this thing is not only a symbolic one. It is evident also by the approaches and by the agenda of contacts and discussions with this government.
The leader of the PLDM also said that they discuss with the government only a minimum of very tough conditions that the administration is unable to appropriately meet.
