When the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) celebrates six years of the constitution, there will be organized a congress to set the priorities for the future and to elect the new administration of the party, the party’s leader Vlad Filat said in a TV program, quoted by IPN. The PLDM held its constitution congress on December 8, 2007.

“It is important that the congress is attended by many colleagues from regions. We must have a clear view on the country’s further development. We have 31 MPs and many mayors. We should not speak about what we did, but about what we must do. A decision about the party’s administration will be taken in the congress. We must look at everything in dynamics and will then get answers to many questions,” said the politician.

Vlad Filat admitted that the electoral system of Moldova may change as the voters must know who they vote for and to have the elected officials close to them. The politician said that the new electoral system must prevent the inappropriate persons from entering Parliament by influence and bribery. The immunity of lawmakers should be limited as neither the ministers, nor the Premier have immunity. However, the changes to the electoral system will not be made by the current legislature.

As to the next legislative elections, Vlad Filat said they will most probably take place on November 30, 2014 as it is not logical to postpone tem until the start of 2015. No party would like to be involved in the election campaign during the winter holidays.
