The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) protests against the way in which the hybrid parliamentary majority treats the amendment of the electoral system, the party says in a press release quoted by IPN.
“The current government has repeatedly shown its manner to take important decisions for the country and the people at night, in a hurry, without consulting all those concerned,” says the PLDM. According to the party, a bill to amend the Election Code hasn’t been yet registered in Parliament, but many politicians, jurists, experts and foreign diplomats raise this issue in public.
The PLDM suggests convoking a Civic Forum or a roundtable meeting of parties to agree a common position as no healthy political force of the center-right can act on its own. Efficient cooperation methods should be identified to empower the anti-oligarchic parties of the center-right, including as regards the amendment or keeping of the current electoral system.
