The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) is ready for dialogue. The party’s National Political Council on March 10 decided that the Lib-Dems on March 11 will invite their former colleagues from the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) to discussions, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The PLDM considers that for the political crisis to be overcome, the negotiations should take place without conditions. “The PLDM’s position is that we should identify solutions and ways to ensure the continuation of the democratic reforms, without ultimatum-like approaches. The PLDM is ready to contribute to finding solutions,” the party’s leader Vlad Filat said after the meeting of the party’s Council.
According to him, the format of the talks can be discussed as it is the essence that counts in fact. “If need be, I will take part in the talks myself, but I think it’s now better for representatives of the party to go to the negotiations. The PLDM delegated Iurie Leanca, Liliana Palihovici, and Valeriu Strelet to launch a dialogue initiative,” said Vlad Filat.
Three days ago, the Democrat Party also announced that it is ready to sit at the negotiating table. On March 5, the Government headed by Vlad Filat was dismissed by the votes of 54 lawmakers. On March 8, President Nicolae Timofti issued a decree, accepting the Government’s resignation.
