Members of the parliamentary group of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) consider the session that ends on July 31 was one of the most shameful one and will remain a painful one for the whole people. According to the Libs-Dems, the government, supported by the Socialists, achieved its own goals, paving the way for the legislative elections of 2018 and ignoring the real problems of the country, IPN reports.

In a news conference, the group’s head Tudor Deliu said that during the current session the Lib-Dems proposed a number of legislative initiatives that could reveal some of the massive illegalities committed by the government, but these continue to gather dust. They also presented a report on the trafficking in anabolic steroids through the agency of the state-run company “Moldova’s Post Office”.

Tudor Deliu noted that after the presidential elections the Dodon – Plahotniuc duo appeared and the opposition put up by the Party of Socialists is nothing but miming, while the two players established an informal partnership. “In this dirty political game, Igor Dodon became the savior of Plahotniuc. The PDM – PSRM controls Moldovan politics and aims to destroy or silence the opposition so as to keep this regime, “stated the MP.

According to him, the friendly dialogue with the development partners is mimicked or the ignoring of the Venice Commission’s opinion about the change in the electoral system cannot be explained. Even if the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group repeatedly warned about the toxicity of electoral system change, the bill was ultimately adopted.

Iurie Tap said the government during the current session only pursued its own interests, being preoccupied with the creation of a mechanism for the upcoming elections, not with the implementation of reforms. The Government reform was just an arithmetic optimization as only Democratic ministers were kept at the nine ministries. Moreover, the reform of the local public authorities is incoherent. The parliamentary alliance does not fulfill its obligation to represent the interests of the people, being illegitimate and non-representative and that violates the Constitution.

The members of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group said they could mount protests in autumn and would call for civil disobedience if the illegalities continue.
