The PLDM and PDM have signed the political agreement on the formation of the Alliance for a European Moldova. The document was signed in the Parliament’s press hall by the leaders of the two parties, Vlad Filat and Marian Lupu, IPN reports.
Vlad Filat said that they had negotiated with a view to forming a pro-European government that would involve the Liberals for seven weeks. “Regretfully, we didn’t manage to form such a government. The reasons are objective, but also mainly subjective. The time we had at our disposal was used up. The country must be governed. The PLDM and PDM assume responsibility for governing Moldova. It won’t be easy to rule with a minority government, but it won’t be impossible to promote the reforms needed by the Moldovan people,” he stated.
The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu said he approves of the responsibility and courage shown by their colleagues from the PLDM in the current difficult political situation. “We apologize for the fact that these negotiations lasted for so long,” he stated.
Together, the PLDM and PDM have 42 seats of MP.
