The lawyers for Veaceslav Platon on March 8 could meet their client who is held at penitentiary No. 13. On March 11, the lawyers went again to meet with Veaceslav Platon, but their access was barred again.
Contacted by IPN, lawyer Alexandru Bodnariuc said the meeting on March 8 could be held after a month of restrictions. Veaceslav Platon has no injuries, but he hasn’t yet had a consultation with a dentist. They transmitted newspapers to him through the penitentiary’s staff, but the papers didn’t reach him.
Alexandru Bodnariuc also said that he went again to the penitentiary in the morning of March 11. Even if there were no other lawyers there, he was told that there were no free places and he should come at 3pm.
Veaceslav Platon was arrested in July 2016 and was convicted to 30 years in jail on two counts – swindle and money laundering in very large amounts. The businessman pleads not guilty.
