The Ministry of Finance is opening public consultations for a proposal to create a “user-friendly, attractive and competitive” digital platform that will enable individual investors to buy government securities directly, IPN reports.
For this platform, securities will be issued through direct placement for retail investors only.
The measure aims to expand the circle of investors and create optimal conditions for direct participation of investors in the internal market of government securities, and diversify sales channels.
At present, individuals can buy government securities only through primary dealers.
The platform will be developed with the support of USAID’s Financial Sector Transparency Activity Program.
