The Platform “Dignity and Truth” calls on the opposition and civil society to stage large-scale protests against the current government. It describes as opportune the call made recently by the leader of the Political Party “Our Party” Renato Usatyi, concerning the mounting of a large protest of the opposition, IPN reports.
“We consider that such a large-scale event, well organized by all the anti-oligarchic political forces and supported by the whole society, has major chances of ending with the fall of the current regime and the holding of free and fair presidential elections so that early parliamentary elections are held shortly afterward and the whole political class is cardinally re-formed,” says the statement of the Platform “Dignity and Truth”.
The Platform members also say that they are ready to take part in the organization of such a protest and call on civil society and other parties that sincerely want the country to be freed from captivity to join in.
The statement says that the whole power is now concentrated in the hands of the administration of a party, which was voted by only 15% of the electors. “The government violates the people’s basic rights to free movement and assembly, intimidates the opposition and the population in general by arbitrary and abusive arrests of protesters and by criminal cases against inconvenient servants.
The Platform members say that by blackmail and corruption, the local mayors and councilors are forced to join the Democratic Party. “Society is increasingly embraced by an atmosphere of fear and despair,” reads the statement.
