The Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” calls on the people to come together to a new protest that will be staged in the Great National Assembly Square on June 7. The initiative group promises that the event will be peaceful in character, IPN reports.
In a news conference, initiative group members called upon all the groups of people to join in the protest that will start at 12 noon. The platform considers the mafia clans can be removed from power only by protests.
The members of the initiative group noted that since the last protest staged on May 3, the state institutions, which are held hostage, only have pretended to be fighting the oligarchs and to be looking for those who stole the US$1 billion. A last warning will be issued at the protest so that those to blame for that theft are dismissed.
The Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” aims to de-oligarchize and de-offshorize the banking system and the mass media of Moldova.
Initiative group member Andrei Nastase said there are a number of radical statements about the June 7 protest, but these do not come from the platform.
Another member Igor Botan stated that the planned event has three dimensions – of protest, of mobilization and of union. The participants will protest against the fake investigation into the case of stealing of the US$1 billion. The staged protests are not aimed at destabilizing the political situation in the country.
The Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” mounted two large-scale protests against the government so far – on April 5 and on May 3. The events involved several dozen people.
