Plates for Chisinau architectural monuments will be ready next week

The Chisinau administration is to choose one of there models of plates for the municipal architectural monuments, which are to be installed from next week. “Either red or blue, we will anyway be criticized. It is important that the text on the plates be readable,” deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu stated for Info-Prim Neo. According to the official, the first plates will appear on the monuments situated in the perimeter of the streets Stefan cel Mare, Pushkin, and Banulescu-Bodoni. The cost of the project has not been yet determined. The municipal authorities decided to fix plates with information about the history of the important local monuments after an architectural building located at the intersection of the streets Columna and Banulescu Bodoni was demolished illegally. Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said earlier that these plates will inform the population about the constructions included in the Register of Architectural Monuments of National Importance and the Register of Architectural Monuments of Local Importance. The latter was finished recently and is to be approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council. According to the Register of Architectural Monuments of Local Importance, the historical center of Chisinau will be restricted around Albisoara St, but extended around the Circus and Alexei Mateevici St. The demolition of constructions considered architectural monuments will be banned. Those that are in a bad state will be reconstructed. Any construction or reconstruction will be in strict complained with the General Urban Plan of Chisinau. Changes to the architectural style will be allowed only inside the buildings.
