The Social Assistance Division of Chisinau aims to launch a new placement service for elderly people. A building for the purpose has been identified in Colonita village of Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.
The Division’s deputy head Irina Banov, in the December 4 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, said the regulations concerning the functioning of the center and the expenditure estimate will be finalized by February 20 next year. The center will provide services free and for money.
The local authorities of Chisinau also intend to increase the capacity of the center for sheltering persons without a home located on Haltei St from 70 to 100 places. Homeless persons found on the street by people, the police or the emergency medical services will be taken to this center at any hour.
According to the police, there are about 400 such persons in Chisinau.
