The Liberal Party (PL) will take part in the negotiations on the formation of the Alliance for European Integration 3 only if the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) fields another candidate for premiership instead of Vlad Filat, the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said, quoted by IPN.
“We plead for integration into the EU and think about tomorrow. We must achieve the European integration objective. We are for the creation of the AEI -3, but with a Government free from corruption and traffic of influence,” Mihai Ghimpu told a news conference on Tuesday.
After the PLDM withdrew from the agreement on the formation of the AEI and Parliament gave a vote of no confidence to the Filat Government, a series of rounds of talks were held to restore the parliamentary majority. President Nicolae Timofti had consultations with the party leaders, aimed at identifying a candidate for the post of Premier. The name of the candidate may be announced this week.
