PL, PLDM will not vote for Lupu as President if he is fielded by PCRM – PDM coalition

The PL and PLDM will not vote in favor of the candidate proposed by a center-left PCRM–PDM coalition for the head of state even if this is Marian Lupu. Related statements were made by the first vice presidents of the two parties Anatol Salaru and Mihai Godea in a televised program on December 9, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We will never vote for a Communist candidate, even if this is Marian Lupu or a neutral person,” Anatol Salaru said. Mihai Godea stated that the PLDM will not vote in favor of a candidate for the presidency put forward by a Communist coalition, even if there is a risk that the head of state will not be elected. Today, December 10, the leaders of the PL, PLDM and PDM will come together for new discussions on the formation of a democratic government coalition. New talks between the PCRM and PDM will take place also today.
