The Liberal Party (PL) called upon the Pro-European Coalition not to deviate from the announced European integration course. The Liberals consider the parties of the coalition promote their own interests, think about their own pockets and already started the election campaign, IPN reports.

The chairman of the PL Mihai Ghimpu told a news conference that Moldova has witnessed misery, poverty, contraband and a struggle between the communist and oligarchic powers for 20 de years. The people live worse, while the parties think about their own interests. “The PLDM and PDM should focus on the European integration. If Moldova loses again the chance it enjoys now, the EU will no more turn its face to us. That’s why dear coalition, you should meditate. The vote of 2014 depends on how things stand this year,” stated the Liberal leader.

The first deputy chairman of the PL Dorin Chirtoaca called on the coalition not to deprive the citizens of the European dream and the wish to live better. The initialing of the Association Agreement and then its signing will not produce the expected result if the Communists come to power in 2014. “The voters’ wish depends on the government’s acts. Thus, these acts should not disappoint them,” he stated.

The party’s deputy chairman Valeriu Munteanu said that the election campaign started prematurely. It distracts attention from the real obligations. “We call on the coalition to concentrate on the work of the government during the next 12 months,” he stated.

The Liberals underlined that Moldova does not need early elections, which may delay the signing of the Association Agreement.
