A pilot electronic ticketing project in the public transport of Chisinau will be kicked off on January 1, 2021 and will last for half a year. When the six-month period is over, a report on the profitability and final costs of the e-ticketing system will be produced. An order to this effect was signed by mayor general Ion Ceban, IPN reports.
Under the ordinance, the Chisinau Electric Transport Company and the Urban Bus Company will sign contracts with e-ticketing service providers, will implement the pilot-project on a municipal bus and trolleybus public transport route and will monitor the functioning of the tested system.
The project to introduce the electronic ticketing system in the municipal public transport will be implemented under a public-private partnership.
