The young people from Chisinau, including refugees, will be able to get grants of up to 200,000 lei for developing businesses. The young people who already run a business and made an investment from own or from borrowed resources will be paid the interest rate for 24 months, in the amount of at most 100,000 lei. This is provided in the Municipal Pilot Program “Startup for the Youth and Migrants” that was launched in Chisinau, IPN reports.
Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban told a news conference that the program is intended for persons aged between 18 and 40 who have the place of residence in the municipality of Chisinau and who want to start a business or own a company that was registered in the municipality of Chisinau during the last 12 months, for migrants who worked aboard or persons who received remittances from abroad (husband/wife, first degree) and for young persons who invested borrowed money in their business during the last 24 months.
Young refugees will also be able to enroll in the program. It goes to future entrepreneurs who created a partnership with a resident young person with the domicile in the municipality of Chisinau and want to start a business or have owned a business registered in the municipality for at most 12 months.
Among the key areas of the program are production activities, provision of services, innovatory activities, know-how and technology transfer, development of the ICT sector, electromechanics, agrifood industry, hospitality industry, light industry, creative industry, tourism industry, health and beauty, professional, scientific or technical activities, energy efficiency, agriculture.
The program will be proposed for public debates during 15 days and will be later adopted by the Chisinau Municipal Council.
