A pilgrimage to commemorate Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici will be organized to Cosereni commune from the Romanian country of Ialomita. The artists lost ther lives their in an road crash on October 30, 1992. The pilgrimage will be organized on October 25, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the deputy president of Doua Inimi gemene Association, Eugenia Marin, the pilgrims will plant flowers and trees around the hoisted at the place of the tragedy. A commemorative religious service will be held.
Doina and Ion Aldea Teodorovici were the first to sing about the Romanian language after the national revival started in the late 80s, promoting its introduction in Moldova as official. In 1991 they sang at the Great National Assembly and in 1992 – for the fighters in the military conflict on the Nistru.
In 2008 it turns 16 years since their death. In the night of October 29 to 30, 1992, the car they were traveling on collided with a trees at 49 km from Bucharest.
