Employees of the local cleanup service gathered over 350 cubic meters of garbage from Ștefan cel Mare Blvd after the Chisinau City’s Day celebrated on October 14, IPN reports.
The head of the Development and Cleanup Section of the Public Amenities Division of Chisinau Vasile Efros has told IPN that the cleanup works started at 4am. The over 50 workers involved in the manual cleanup operation were assisted by tractors, garbage trucks, HAKO and IVECO road sweepers. There were collected over 20 dustcarts.
As not all the traders that sold in central Chisinau took the garbage to the containers placed for the purpose, the cleanup effort was impeded. The workers gathered the waste manually, instead of the garbage being loaded onto trucks in a mechanized way.
The workers of the Public Amenities Division also cleaned the central square of Chisinau, while the parks were cleared up by employees of the Green Areas Association.
