Picketing Bender prison yields results: news agency from Tiraspol

Although there is no talk about removing the jail, picketing the prison from Bender has yielded results, writes the Tiraspol news agency Olvia-press, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The joint military commandment has obliged the prison's administration to offer information about the movement of the dangerous detainees within the area, the Transnistrian agency specifies. According to the outlet, the commandment will hold control over the jail while moving weapons and ammunitions through the area. At the same time, the Joint Control Commission (JCC) has resolved to ask the civil society from the town to stop picketing the prison. Moldova's delegation in the JCC committed to inform the Justice Ministry about the claims of the NGO from Bender. It has asked the Transnistrian delegation to contribute to normalizing the situation about the prison. Picketing penitentiary 8 from Bender started on May 28. The locals demanded to remove the jail claiming it held inmates suffering from tuberculosis. The Justice Ministry rejected the charge. The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights from Moldova believes the action pursues to get a grasp of the prison's assets.
