Conductor Răzvan Apetrei will direct again the Symphonic Orchestra of the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” on June 15, at 6pm, at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau, IPN reports.

The program of the concert includes the Coriolan Overture Op. 62 and Piano Concert No. 3 in do minor Op. 37 by Ludwig van Beethoven and also the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini Op. 43 by Sergey Rachmaninoff.

The soloists of the concerts are two very talented Romanian pianists: Leonid Lupașcu (born in 2007) and Darius-Isaac Lungu (born in 2010), who, even if they are very young, have won multiple awards and have rich concert activity.

Răzvan Apetrei is one of the most gifted and promising Romanian conductors of the new generation, being a founding member of the Royal Camerata and a founding member and director general of the Royal Choir, youth ensembles that are under the High Royal Patronage and that were awarded by Her Majesty Margareta, the Custodian of the Crown of Romania. He studied as a conductor in Bucharest, in the class of Master Dumitru Goia and in 2017 became a doctoral student and university assistant in Iasi. In 2016, he founded the Clandestine Opera – an independent opera, ballet and theater company. He cooperated with musical institutions of Romania, such as the Philharmonics of Brasov, Bacau, Pitesti, Ramnicu Valcea, the Comic Opera for Children of Bucharest and others and performed at the 2019 and 2021 editions of the George Enescu International Festival.

By an updated note, the organizers of the concert informed that pianist Ioana Chiriac, even if she appears on the poster, cancelled her participation in this concert due to an accident. The work was replaced by the Coriolan Overture Op. 62 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
