Photographer Mihai Potarniche invites Moldovans home

“Home. Reconciliation in Colors” is the theme of an exhibition by photographer Mihai Potarniche, which was opened at the Exhibitions Center “Constantin Brancusi”. The 77 photographs center on the native place that remained behind, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“In 1970, photography became a lifestyle for me. I started to live and think through photos,” said Mihai Potarniche, for whom the village remains a place that promotes eternity and sacredness.
The 77 photos feature villages, faces of elderly persons who are waiting for the departed children and personalities, including poet Grigore Vieru. The photo of two parents who are waiting for their children at the window occupies a central place in the exhibition.
Attending the event, Prime Minister designate Vlad Filat said the works of Mihai Potarniche reveal the beauty and the positive things that surround us, representing thus a symbol for Moldova.
Writer Spiridon Vangheli stressed that every picture of Mihai Potarniche’s exhibition seems to ask the people what they do for this nation and country. “By these photos, Mihai Potarniche highlights the problems confronting us and reminds us of childhood and everything we have dear,” he said.
Mihai Potarniche has staged over 30 personal exhibitions so far. His woks are known in Chisinau, Kiev, Iasi, Bucharest, Strasbourg, Paris, and Warsaw.
The exhibition “Home. Reconciliation in Colors” will continue until January 14.
