Martisor, the symbol of spring and Romanian traditions, has been admired across all continents, captured against the backdrop of iconic landmarks worldwide. The "Traveling Martisor" photo exhibition was inaugurated at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History in Chisinau. Visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition until March 31, discovering Martisor featured in photographs taken in various locations around the world, IPN reports.

The exhibition showcases images of Martisor in picturesque and well-known places - natural and architectural landmarks from Africa, America, Australia, Europe, and Asia.

The initiative belongs to journalist Vitalie Gutu, founder of the "Calatorii cu Gust" project, who launched this challenge a decade ago, encouraging the diaspora to take Martisor abroad and capture it in memorable locations.

At the inauguration event, Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan emphasized the importance of this initiative: "Mărțișor is a symbol that unites us, and we must proudly promote it on an international level." The official noted that the exhibition provides Moldova with an opportunity to convey a strong cultural message in Europe and highlighted the need to create favorable conditions for preserving and promoting this tradition.

Vitalie Gutu expressed gratitude to Moldovans in the diaspora who joined the initiative, contributing not only with photographs but also with handcrafted Mărțișor decorations. The project’s founder hopes that this initiative will expand into schools across Moldova, ensuring that new generations continue to promote Martisor.

The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, and the "Calatorii cu Gust" project. The public is invited to discover the stories behind the images and rediscover the beauty of Mărțișor as an intangible cultural heritage element, recognized on the UNESCO list.
