An exhibition of photographs was opened at the Exhibitions Complex “Constantin Brancusi”. Its aim is to collect funds for socially vulnerable children that are under the guardianship of the Chisinau Division for Children’s Rights Protection, Info-Prim Neo reports. The author of the pictures and initiator of the charity event is the Italian Pietro Piensa. He is helped by his wife Elena Mihailo, who is native of Moldova. The Piensa couple has organized fund-raising events in Moldova for four years and this is the second exhibition of the kind. According to Elena Mihailo, all the works exhibited for sale were made while her husband had been in Spain, Germany, France, Italy and Moldova. Family friends and public personalities were invited to purchase them. An old friend of the Piensa couple, professor Ion Ciorici said that the whole exhibition can be considered a work of art and those that will like a certain picture can pay for it as much as they want. During the four years, the Piensa family cooperated with Saint Pantelimon Church in Chisinau and donated clothes to the children that visited the house of worship. Speaking about the exhibition, the bishop of the church, priest Valeriu Potoroaca said that the works are made with great skill and the author was endowed by God. The initiative to organize the charity event was put forward by Pietro Piensa. He chose to help the children from Moldova because this is the mother country of his wife. In order to pass from spontaneous philanthropy to planned charity work, the initiators intend to create the independent Corporate Philanthropic Fund. But this is not possible for the time being as they don’t have the necessary funds.
