The losses sustained as a result of the fluctuations in exchange rates, nontransparent tender contests and high costs incurred when registering drugs are only some of the problems faced by pharmaceutical companies.  Representatives of the largest importers of medicines, pharmaceutical storehouses and drugstores of the country spoke about the most serious difficulties they faced in a meeting with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports.

According to them, the excessive number of authorizations and certificates they need to work is another problem, as is the non-ensuring of transparency in tender contests by the health facilities.

For his part, Pavel Filip said that he wants a sincere and constructive dialogue on the problems experienced by the economic entities so as to remove the bureaucratic barriers and make sure that the people are supplied with drugs of a high quality and at reasonable prices. “If there are cases when employees of state institutions regulating the activity in the pharmaceutical sector exert pressure, I’m ready to deal with them. By implementing intelligent regulatory mechanisms, the possibilities of bribery will be eliminated,” stated the Premier.

He noted that many of these problems were reported to him and the state institutions are to solve them step by step.
