The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) resumed the investigation into a case of rape that involves a division head of Moldova’s Railways. PGO press officer Maria Vieru has told IPN that the case, which was earlier closed by the Transport Prosecution Service, was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office of Centru district.

The case became known after the victim and her boyfriend gave a news conference, which was organized with the help of “Antimafie” Movement. They said that the rape was committed by the head of the company’s maintenance division Anatolie Fricatel.

According to the victim, the case happened last October, when the boss told her to remain after hours. That evening, he raped the girl and told her he would kill her if she told somebody what happened. The police ordered filing a lawsuit, but the Transport Prosecution Service closed the case.

Anatolie Fricatel didn’t comment on the accusations.
