Moldova’s second president Petru Lucinschi advises the Communists Party (PCRM) to admit defeat in elections, as Mircea Snegur did, and to shift to the Opposition, the portal Unimedia said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. At a news conference on Wednesday, Petru Lucinschi said that he hopes the parties that entered the new Parliament will reach an agreement. He stressed that the complicated situation in the legislature can be remedied by eight persons – Vlad Filat, Marian Lupu, Dumitru Diacov, Serafim Urecheanu, Mihai Ghimpu, Dorin Chirtoaca, Vladimir Voronin and Mark Tkachuk. “It will be very dangerous if the Alliance for European Integration falls apart at this moment,” the former president said. According to Lucinschi, the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat will do a good job as Speaker, while the PLDM leader Marian Lupu is prepared for the post of head of state. Petru Lucinschi had been president of Moldova from December 1996 until April 4, 2001.
