Petru Corduneanu named deputy chief of Border Police Inspectorate

After the former deputy director of the State Guard and Protection Service Petru Corduneanu was named deputy commander of the General Carabineer Inspectorate last yearend, he was now transferred to the post of deputy head of the Border Police Inspectorate.

Contacted by IPN for details, Alina Zbancă, consultant at the Ministry of Home Affairs, said the post is not occupied on a contest basis. Petru Corduneanu was named by transfer, by order of outgoing Minister of Home Affairs Pavel Voicu.

Petru Corduneanu entered Parliament on the Socialist ticket. He then served as deputy director of the State Guard and Protection Service, but resigned when Maia Sandu was invested as President. At the end of last December, Corduneanu was appointed deputy chief of the General Carabineer Inspectorate.
