The Moldovan politicians should learn from Romania’s experience and should invest a technocratic government, political analyst Petru Bogatu stated in the talk show “European horizon” on TVR-Moldova channel, IPN reports.
“We need a technocratic government that would be able to bring things in Moldova to normality. No politically affiliated person should form part of this government. The ruling parties must assume responsibility for overcoming the crisis. The Premier should be designated in the same way. The U.S. Ambassador suggested that Maia Sandu is a suitable candidate for this post. This is the only person that wasn’t involved in corruption scandals. She has a high rating and will definitely not become involved in political partisanship,” stated Bogatu.
However, the analyst is skeptical that the PDM and PLDM will be able to reach an agreement on the formation of the Government. “The Democrats’ reaction to the conditions put forward by the PLDM for taking part in the negotiations shows that those from the PDM will not accept them. The dismissal of the Strelet Government and the arrest of Filat represented elements of a strategy for conserving the current system. The fall means for them political hara-chiri,” said Petru Bogatu.
The analyst believes things could return to normality under external pressure. “Powerful external pressure is needed to make the Moldovan politicians withdraw in favor of a technocratic government. I hope the EU will keep its interest in Moldova and will look at the state of affairs in our country from several angles,” he stated.
