Petrocub has returned from a pre-season training session held in the Turkish Mediterranean resort of Antalya, where the Moldovan club played a series of friendlies.
Lilian Popescu’s team managed a goalless draw with Liepaja (Latvia) and saw a series of defeats at the hands of FK Slutsk (Belarus) 2-5, Gorodeya (Belarus) 0-4, Akhmat Grozny (Russia) 0-5, and Katowice (Poland) 0-3.
“A win is always a success, often accompanied by euphoria, but a negative outcome makes for a better lesson in a preparatory stage. It’s only then that you can clearly evaluate what goes wrong, what can be improved and what you need to work on. This is what we do when we pit ourselves against stronger teams, working hard to grow”, said Petrocub defender Maxim Potîrniche.
The new Divizia Naționala season is due to start March 16.
