Persons will be discharged after first negative COVID-19 test

The persons will be discharged after the first negative test for COVID-19 and will continue treatment at home. If they do not have conditions at home, they will be transferred to the Center “Constructorul” in Chisinau, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu stated after the April 12 meeting of the National Focal Point, IPN reports.

The Center “Constructorul” will accept patients with mild forms of COVID-19 and those who will test negative for the virus the first time, but cannot go home to self-isolate there. Viorica Dumbrăveanu said the new block of the National Clinical Hospital was freed for persons who need mechanical ventilation. This will have 50 available beds. Forty-nine persons went to the triage center COVID-19 Chisinau during two days and 30 of them were hospitalized, two being in a serious state.

In a livestream, Sergiu Vasilița, director of the Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorbă”, stated that there are 120 infected persons at their hospital at present. Seventy patients had been discharged. They have one case of infection among healthcare workers. He approved of the Ministry of Health’s decision to discharge the patients who test negative for the virus at least once so that they continue treatment at home.

Ludmila Bârcă, director of the Municipal Children’s Hospital of Contagious Diseases, said live that they initially admitted also children suspected of having the infection, but now remained only with children confirmed with COVID-19. They currently have a total of 120 patients, 107 of whom are infected with COVID-19. Of these, 32 are grownups and 75 are children.  They have no more available places at present.

Andrei Uncuța, head of the National Clinical Hospital, noted that they so far accepted 76 infected patients in a serious and very serious state, including pregnant women. Of them, 31 patients were transferred and three were cured. Nine patients died.  There are now 38 persons with COVID-19 at the National Clinical Hospital. Of them, seven are in a very serious, critical condition and were put on a ventilator.

As many as 1,560 infections with COVID-19 have been confirmed in Moldova by now. Thirty persons succumbed to the virus, while 165 are in a serious state.
