The persons who suffered even from serious forms of COVID-19 had antibodies for a limited period of time. That’s why they must have a vaccine for SARS-CoV-2 so as to avoid the risk of reinfection, Liliana Iașan, manager of the Buiucani Medical-Territorial Association of Chisinau, said in an online event titled” Who will be vaccinated against COVID-19 the first and when immunization will start”. The event was staged by mama.md, UNICEF Moldova and forum.md, IPN reports.

The doctor noted that the infection rate among healthcare workers in Romania as a result of vaccination declined by 87.7%. On February 17, Moldova got over 1,300 new cases of COVID-19 and 44 or 3% of them were among medical personnel. This is a very high figure.

The first stage of the vaccination campaign in Moldova will last for up to three months and will cover the healthcare workers, firstly those of intensive care units and COVID-19 hospitals and then those from primary, pre-hospital and hoopster medicine, druggists and dentists. The second stage will last for up to six months so that the vaccination could continue in 2022. It will embrace persons older than 60 and with chronic diseases, police officers, employees of the education and social sectors. The general population will be vaccinated at the third stage.

Acceding to Liliana Iașan, the COVID-19 vaccine can have side effects in persons who had allergic reactions to other types of vaccines. In Israel, which vaccinated the largest part of its population, only 0.66% of the patients experienced side effects from the vaccine and these were insignificant.

The doctor noted the persons who will be vaccinated against COVID-19 in Moldova will be supervised during 15 minutes after being immunized, while the allergic ones for 30 minutes. It is important for the persons not to have fever and symptoms of cold or viral infections when going to be vaccinated.
