The authorities of Ukraine didn’t introduce new rules or restrictions as regards the crossing of the state border, but may prevent the persons who do not indicate the purpose of the trip or drivers who do not have documents needed for transporting more than five passengers from entering the country. The statement was made by Ukrainian Ambassador to Moldova Serhii Pyrozhkov in connection with the recent cases of return of Moldovan vehicles with more than five passengers from the Ukrainian border.
In a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iulian Groza, the Ukrainian diplomat said that when the entrance to Ukraine at the border is banned, the people have the right to ask the Ukrainian border authorities to present an official document showing why access was banned.
The ambassador also said that some of the restrictions may be related to traffic security following the snowfall and the ice that formed on the roads to Odessa and Nikolaev.
