The persons who come from a “green zone”, but on the way to the Republic of Moldova transit a country classed as “red zone” will self-isolate for 14 days. The persons who travel by a direct flight will not need to stay in quarantine, epidemiologist Alexei Ceban, of the National Public Health Agency, was quoted by IPN as saying in a news conference.

According to the epidemiologist, the list of states from the “red zone” will be updated once in 14 days on Friday and will take effect the Monday of next week. The countries are put on the given list if the number of cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 people is higher than 50.

All the countries with an indicator higher than 50 are considered areas with intense transmission of the virus and are classed as “red zone”. The countries with an indicator lower than 50 are considered “green zones” and the Moldovans or foreigners who come from these countries to Moldova do not need to self-isolate for 14 days.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection on August 28 published the list of 53 states classed as “red zones”. The Moldovans and foreigners coming from these countries to Moldova have to stay in quarantine.
