The persons who have travelled recently to countries affected by the novel coronavirus are obliged to remain isolated at home. During 14 days, the person must avoid contact with other people, including members of the family, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu was quoted by IPN as saying in a news conference.

Self-isolation at home implies the measuring of body temperature three times a day. If the person feels sick, this should contact by phone the family doctor and should not go to the hospital. If the state of health worsens, the 112 service should be called. There are also light forms of infection with COVID-19 and only the persons with more serious forms need to be hospitalized.

Also, the persons suspected of being infected with the novel coronavirus are isolated until the results are ready and throughout the treatment period, if the presence of the virus is confirmed.

“It is surely everyone’s responsibility as we cannot provide a doctor or a police officer to guard those who should be in a self-isolation regime,” stated the minister.

Parliament is today examining legal provisions that institute punishments for those who do not obey the self-isolation regime and expose other persons to the risk of infection. The police will ascertain the violations, while the inspections will be carried out randomly.
