The doctor said the risk groups also include the persons suffering from pancreatitis, colecystitis, and bronchial asthma, the persons who receive hormonal treatment and the women who gave birth to babies weighing more than 4 kg. “If the amount of glucose is higher than 5.5 mmol/l, a test is done to see if the person has sugar diabetes in hidden form or states of tolerance that also need special diet and treatment. The tolerance test for glucose is done in the morning, after not eating for 10-12 hours,” said the endocrinologist.
