All the persons arrested following searches at the hangar in Criuleni, where helicopters were being assembled in a clandestine way as the prosecutors stated, were set free, with some of them being classed as witnesses. Three persons are investigated, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, five of them were released during the first 24 hours after the prosecutors determined that they played no illegal role. They will be yet summoned as witnesses. Two more persons were set free the next day. The investigation now covers another three persons. A series of examinations are to be conducted in this case.

Businessman Iurii Ceban, who says he owns the hangar situated in Criuleni district, on July 2 disseminated an open letter, saying a group of enthusiasts did technical tests on mock-ups, not on helicopters, as the police called them in press releases. The man noted he holds patents on different technical solutions for fuselage models that were perceived as helicopters by the law. The mock-ups were fully assembled with minimum expenses.
