Personal exemptions and those for maintained persons to be increased

The annual personal exemptions and exemptions for maintained persons may be raised next year by adjusting them to the rate of inflation projected at 5%, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a bill proposed by the Ministry of Finance for public debates. It is suggested increasing the annual personal exemption from 8 640 lei to 9120 lei, the major personal exemption for certain groups of private individuals from 12 840 lei to 13 560 lei, while the exemption for maintained persons from 1 920 lei to 2 040 lei. The income taxation will be also modified. A tax of 7% may be put on the incomes of up to 26 700 lei (25 200l lei in 2012), and of 18% on the larger incomes.
