A car caught fire and exploded in the yard of an apartment building situated at 112 Alba Iulia St in Chisinau. Firefighters found the carbonized body of a person inside the car. The identity of this hasn’t been yet discovered.
It happened at about 1am this morning. Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati said it is not known if the victim was a man or a woman and if this died in the fire or earlier. A legal examination is to be performed.
Neighbors said the car owner went abroad long ago.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies of the Ministry of the Interior, the car was fully destroyed by fire. The fire partially damaged two more vehicles parked nearby.
