Person killed in fire blamed on careless smoking

A 74-year-old man died Saturday in a fire in Vadul lui Voda town of the municipality of Chisinau. Liliana Pucasu, press office of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the preliminary investigations show the fire broke out as a result of careless smoking. An unexploded 122 mm artillery shell dating from the Second World Word was found on the same day during embankment works in a private home in Ocnita district. The place will be guarded until the shell is transported from there, Liliana Puscasu said.
