A blast occurred today, January 4, in an apartment building in the center of Chisinau. Employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies were called out to a block situated on Mihail Kogălniceanu St, IPN reports.
The call to the 112 Service was received at 11:08am. Two firefighting teams were at the scene immediately. As a result of the blast, a man aged 36 suffered burns on the face and hands and was taken to the hospital by an ambulance.
According to the first examinations, the explosion occurred after the man turned on the cooker. Two apartments situated nearby were also damaged.
No other victims were found at the scene.
