The young man who killed a 17-year-old girl and a woman aged 63 in Hagimus village of Causeni district four months ago was sentenced to 30 years’ imprisonment for robbery, rape and intentional murder committed with exceptional cruelty.  The convict is 20 years and is from Causeni district, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The case happened on January 24. Being under the influence of alcohol, the young man went to the old woman’s home and called her out. When the woman opened the door, he hit her with a knife and downed her. He raped her and took her earrings and ring. He then stabbed her several times and threw the body into a precipice near the house.

Immediately afterward, he went to the girl’s home. On the pretext of helping her to record music on the mobile phone, he entered the house and stabbed her to death. He then stole her earrings and other golden jewels from the house.

The young man was arrested in less than a week of the commission of the crimes. The golden items stolen from the victims were found in his house. When being questioned by prosecutors, the man admitted his guilt.

The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
