A man and a woman that were reportedly living together died of monoxide poisoning in a house in Peresecina, Orhei district. The poisoning gas was generated by smoldering content after a fire broke out in the house in yet unestablished circumstances at around 10:00 PM on Thursday, an Emergencies Service spokesperson said. The man and the woman were both in their 60s and neither of them had children. Both were considered vulnerable members of the community, according to a source in the mayor's office. Since the beginning of 2011, over 2,000 fires have occurred across Moldova claiming 127 lives. Compared with the same period last year, the number of fires rose by 9.4%.
