The People’s Assembly of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia has a new chairman. This is Vladimir Kyssa, who was chosen by a majority of votes in a special meeting on March 3, IPN reports.
According to the official website of the People’s Assembly, two candidates were proposed for the post of chairman: Vladimir Kyssa and Mihail Manolov. In the secret ballot, 18 of the 22 deputies attending the meeting voted for Kyssa.
Deputy Gheorghe Leiciu said that he, together with a group of deputies, respects both of the candidates, but will not take part in the vote.
Earlier, the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia was headed by Alexandru Tarnovski. In the March 3 meeting, this was chosen deputy chairman of the Assembly, at the suggestion of Vladimir Kyssa.
