Dmitrii Constantinov, the head of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, presented in Parliament a legislative initiative to free from VAT the building materials imported for the roof of the church of Copceac village of Ceadir-Lunga district. The official said it is for the first time that a representative of the People’s Assembly comes to Parliament with an initiative, IPN reports.

“It’s pleasant to be here as I was told that this is for the first that that a representative of the People’s Assembly presents an initiative in Moldova’s Parliament. I hope it won’t be the last one,” stated Dmitrii Constantinov.

The Assumption of Virgin Mary Church in Copceac is being erected. “It is constructed with donations made by residents of the village and exempting these imports from VAT will be a benefaction,” said the official.

The bill was supported by all the parliamentary groups.
