People will report cases of corruption to City Hall through trust line

A trust line and a special mailbox will be set up at the Chisinau City Hall over the next two weeks for the people to report cases of corruption in the municipal administration, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the City Hall, the two instruments for combating corruption form part of the Antifraud and Anticorruption Policy approved by the municipality. This policy is a special document designed to create an internal institutional environment that would contribute to combating frauds and corruption in the local public administration. The document was adopted by an order of Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca. Early in May, an employee of the City Hall’s Legal Assistance Division was caught in the act of taking €10,000 bribe. The jurist is investigated for passive corruption. The mayor said then that he personally denounced the jurist to the Center for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption and asked catching him red-handed so that his guilt was proven.
